I’m incredibly honored to share that I was recognized as the 2025 Developmental Educator of the Year by CASP-TX (College Academic Support Programs).
This award means so much to me because I care deeply about building pathways that help students navigate college. From supporting TWU’s FAST Academy to strengthening English corequisite courses (and even teaching a first-year seminar for pre-nursing students enrolled in developmental math), I enjoy finding creative ways to remove barriers to success so all students can persist in their studies. It feels good to have years of hard work recognized, but I also want to acknowledge that this work is so much bigger than just one person.
Thank you to CASP leadership for recognizing the value of this work and to all of my colleagues, collaborators, and especially to my students. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you all, and I know it's paying off (with a 7.2% increase in retention at TWU just in the last year).
But we still have work to do and a semester to finish. So back to it — with a full heart.
